Dion Welton is the founder of Hope is Now ministries and a graduate of St. Thomas University in Miami Florida where he attended on a basketball scholarship. Following his collegiate career Dion played for three seasons professionally in Europe.Following his basketball career Dion worked nearly 15 years in marketing research and consulting. He is quickly becoming a popular speaker, writer and motivator in and outside the Christian community nationwide.
His God given ability to inspire people from all walks off life has made him a sought after presenter at numerous events. His talks and writings focus on the wonderful amazing grace and mercy God has for each and every one of us if we simply, genuinely, with repentant hearts, accept it. Dion grew up in central Indiana where his parents, married 51 years still reside and provided a loving caring, disciplined home. However, bright lights, lots of attention through basketball, money and all the worlds trappings over the years took a serious toll on Dion s life. Self centered, self absorbed, arrogant and full of excuses, Dion s life reached an incredible low.
Faced with some of the most difficult, depressing, challenging circumstances imaginable. Dion reached out to the one constant, always the same, never changing source he had neglected for years, Jesus Christ. In what seemed at first to be a desperate reach for a quick fix, a way out, something that would get him sympathy, over time turned into an incredible transformation.
